10th Grade Reflection

My sophomore year has been a great one for me. Even though I started at a new school, International High School, I adapted well. I moved to this school because I liked the idea of a smaller school, and I had many friends here. I knew I was going to be able to enjoy my high school years here.
The most important thing I learned about myself this year is that I can reach my goals if I work hard enough. Contributions I have my classes are actively participating in activities and lessons. At school, I’ve contributed by attending many events and being supportive of the school. One contribution I’ve made to my local community was volunteering at the Thanksgiving dinner, where I helped people receive their food.
I think the biggest misconception about me this year is that people think I’m a quiet, reserved girl. In class, I’m usually always quiet and not very talkative because I like to get my work done and I take school seriously. However, I love having fun with my friends and family. I’m very outgoing and charismatic with my friends.
I’ve dealt with a few challenges this year, such as getting good grades in certain classes. I especially struggled in Chemistry, as I didn’t take IPC before. But slowly, I got better in that class and others as well. I currently maintain pretty good grades in all my classes.
So far, my sophomore year has been a great one for me. I’m doing very well in my classes and I work hard. I also have fun with my friends and enjoy my time here. I think moving to this school has been a great decision for me.

9th Grade Reflection

For my freshman year, I attended Bellaire High School. It was a great school, with many people and different types of activities. The classes I was most successful in were Italian and geography class. I really succeeded in Italian class because I have a passion for Italian culture and language. It was the same in geography class, because I was really interested in the world and culture.
However, I struggled a lot that year at Bellaire. All of my classes were Pre-AP, and I really struggled to keep a decent grade in those classes. At the beginning of the year, I was testing out different classes and activities such as track. This was difficult for me as well, as I wasn’t used to running and working out intensely. By the end of the first semester I was in the classes I needed to be and did well.
Even though I was doing much better at Bellaire, I felt like I didn’t fit in. I met a lot of new people and hung out with old friends, but I wasn’t really having fun. I felt that I had to enjoy my high school years, and that wasn’t happening at Bellaire. For that reason, I considered moving schools. I thought about it for a while, considering if it would be worth it. I was at a school that many kids wished they’d go too; but it just wasn’t for me. I thought about moving to several different schools such as Sharpstown High, Lee High, and International High School. The first two didn’t really convince my mom. I researched information on International High School. I had known about it since middle school, and I knew a lot of the students that attended there. I liked the fact that it was a small school, which is completely different from Bellaire. I made up my mind and applied and got accepted to International.
